Joseph McCarthy's believe that Russia had infiltrated our government was completely happenstance. He had no evidence--only prejudiced beliefs and power hungry ambitions. Claiming that "he was right" is like me looking at a parking lot and saying "I know there's empty beer cans there!" While I would not have any evidence supporting my claim, I could be right but finding empty beer cans there doesn't prove that I knew what I was talking about. It only proves I made a wild guess that was correct, like marking down anything on a multiple choice quiz. As for the momma thing, Mr McCarthy wished to play with fire and he got his ass burnt. Nam, Korea, WW2, WWI, Spanish American, Civil War, even the friggin' Revolutionary War! Obama, well beings as he was only about 12 years old when Nam ended, I don't think he had to dodge the draft to avoid Vietnam. So what? He didn't do military service. Not doing service is not the same thing as draft dodging. As for Clinton, his deferment was to be a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford. Quite different from Dick Cheney flunking out of Yale--and then shopping around for any institute of higher learning that would admit his ass in order to stay out of Nam.
